728th Police Battalion Boxcar, 1959

Boxcar check for possible pilfering is made by Sgt. Richard B. Smith, non-commissioned officer in charge of the Military Police guard crew on the Munsan-ni (1st Cav.) supply run. Smith and his men eat, sleep and work in special cars coupled to the rear of the trains. The cars are equipped with bunks, toilets, stoves, and tables. Sgt. Richard B. Smith of B Company of the 728th Police Battalion, checks the contents of a box care for pilfering of supplies. The company travels an average of 1,500 miles a month guarding military rail shipments in Korea. The MPs eat, sleep and work in special cars coupled to the rear of the train. These cars are equipped with bunks, toilets, stoves and have bay windows on each side.
