Camp Kaiser, 1959

The 17th Infantry aid station is often referred to as “Little Walter Reed” of Korea. Ordinarily aid stations are only equipped to handle emergencies and minor ailments, but this unit serves all of Camp Kaiser. It has a dispensary for ordinary sick call cases, an X-ray laboratory with dark room, a 10-bed ward and the only medical lab north of the 28th parallel. It even has a bath tub, the only one in Camp Kaiser, although its location is kept secret and its use only reserved for ward patients. [cg]
