Guarding a power generator in Saigon, 1966

Saigon, January, 1966

A military policeman guards a barbed wire-protected generator for Meyerkord billet. Since the generator served as an emergency power supply, it was a target for terrorist bombers. At the time, there were nearly 700 MPs in the city, responsible for round-the-clock security at more than 360 posts from the U.S. ambassador's residence to the smallest troop billets.
