PFC MacLaughlin (left), Sgt. Huggins say goodby to Chul Soo Yu as Mrs. Mays takes him home. Yu Chul Soo - abandoned by his parents at age 10 stands in front of his new foster mother, Mrs. Merle Mays. Mr. and Mrs. Mays of the Vinnell Corp., U.S. Operations Mission Korea (USOM) volunteered to take Yu - or Charles as they decided to call him - home. Yu, originally from Pusan, sought refuge inside the Seoul Area Command Education Center after finding himself homeless in Seoul. Sgt. Henry Huggins and PFC Robert MacLaughlin took care of the boy and called the America-Korea Foundation for help knowing the boy could not stay in the Center permanently. Mrs. Mays - an employee at the foundation - offered to take the boy in.\
