Medical emergency at sea, 1967

Gunner's Mate 3C Charles Chauvin is attended to after he became ill during a patrol in the Formosa Strait. There was no doctor assigned to the USS Epperson, and the patrol had to continue, so Chauvin was taken by a Chinese Air Force H-19 helicopter to the Headquarters Support Activity Station Hospital in Taipei. He was discharged four days later, and retuned to his ship.
