Horse-Drawn Coach at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo will be used to transport Michiko Shoda when she is wed to Crown Prince Akihito this Spring.

Horse-Drawn Coach at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo will be used to transport Michiko Shoda when she is wed to Crown Prince Akihito this Spring. The coach, trimmed in gold leaf and bearing the chrysanthemum seal of the Japanese Imperial family on its doors, adds a Cinderella touch to the storybook romance of the crown prince and the pretty commoner he wooed and won. The coach was displayed for the press Wednesday at the transportation section on the Imperial Palace. The ornate carriage decorated with the Japanese Imperial seal is presented to the press. The carriage has two pairs of horses hitched to it, commanded by two liveried postilions riding on the two left-hitched horses. Two footmen ride on the back. The Imperial carriage will transport Michiko Shoda this Spring on her wedding day as she will wed Japanese Crown Prince Akihito. Another carriage with a two-horse hitch can be seen behind it.
