All-Korean Football Conference opening game, 1958

CAVALIER BACK Ronald Vierra (14) enters touchdown land and scores six points for his team in game with Osan AB. The visiting Osan eleven proved no match for the 1st Cav. team, cheered on by Army rooters celebrating the anniversary of the founding of the division. The game was part of a full day of activities on the division's 37th birthday that included dedication of Craig Field. Members of "The First Team" - the 1st Cavalry Division marked the division's 37 years of service from Ft. Bliss, Texas, to the Korean Demilitarized Zone with gala celebrations. The day was climaxed when the 1st Cav. Cavaliers downed the visiting Osan Air Base eleven, 28-14, in the opening game of the All-Korean Football Conference. The 1st Cav. was activated as a Regular Army division at Ft. Bliss, Texas, September 13, 1921.
