Antenna for new AFKN TV station located at Camp Kaiser. 7th Inf. Div., Korea, is prepared for installation by SP4 Willie F. Correllies (left) and Cpl. John Darcy. The new station, which will transmit filmed programs, is the first of its kind set up outside Seoul. When the AFKN TV station - under construction on Camp Kaiser's "TV Hill" - becomes operational, it will be the first station of its type set up outside of Seoul. All production work will be done in Seoul with only announcements and local sports being live from Kaiser. Program selection and scheduling will also be done in Seoul. Three weeks was spent on construction of the 100-foot transmitting tower which will broadcast television programs to Camp Kaiser area residents.
